Madder Extract
The natural red color is extracted from the roots of the Madder plant , scientifically named Rubia Tinctorum, which is a perennial herbaceous plant. Madder pigment called ” Alizarin ” is a red substance that dissolves completely in water. The use of madder paint has a history of more than 3500 years. Its consumption is mostly reported in Egypt and Central Asia. Natural dyes come in a variety of physical and chemical properties. Some of them are sensitive to oxidation, changes in PH, light and solubility.
They are relatively less stable and much more expensive than synthetic dyes.
